CEO/Executive Director

Susan Danish brings more than 20 years of leadership and management to her role as CEO/Executive Director of The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI). Her personal commitment to voluntarism and women’s leadership, and her insights into products and services targeted to women, make her ideally suited to guide an organization dedicated to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities. Susan’s insights are shared via her blog on The Huffington Post and as a speaker at conferences around the world.
Before AJLI, Susan was the Executive Director of the Center for Women’s Leadership at Babson College. Susan’s background includes significant corporate experience. She was the General Manager of the Department & Specialty Store division of Kayser-Roth Corporation where she built leading hosiery brands including Calvin Klein and HUE. She was the Senior Vice President of Marketing for the auction house, Christie’s, and VP of Marketing for the fast-fashion chain, Express.
Susan holds a BS degree from Northwestern University, an MS from Boston University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is the Treasurer on the Board of the National Women’s History Museum in Washington, DC, the Chair of the Board of the National Human Services Assembly, an association of the largest health and human services organizations in the United States (the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, United Way, Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, Among others), serves on the Nominating Committee for the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE), and is on the Board of Visitors for Miss Hall’s School, a private college preparatory school for girls grades 9-12 in Pittsfield, MA. She is an Active member of the Junior League of Brooklyn.
