Gretchen Garceau-Kragh is a champion for humans and animals alike. As a Junior League member for over 20 years, she brings deep experience and an ongoing commitment to sustainer engagement in the Junior League of San Antonio (JLSA). Gretchen’s altruistic, energetic and selfless spirit carries through in every effort she embarks upon both within her League and greater community where she also focuses on the pet population.
Gretchen’s extensive Junior League experience spans from Texas to North Carolina to New York, giving her a unique perspective and diverse resume that reflects her broad skill set. Within the JLSA, Gretchen serves as a Sustaining Adviser in Finance and has served as a COACH Program mentor. Previously, she lent her skills to the Junior League of Fayetteville, NC, where she served as Publications chair, and with the Junior League of Orange County, NY, where she played an active role in the Research and Development Committee. Gretchen is a trained parliamentarian, and she has served on the Nominating/Governance Committee for both The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) and one of its affinity groups, Presidents of Large Leagues (POLL).
Gretchen is passionate about animals and has dedicated years of work to their well-being. In 2011, Gretchen founded The Cannoli Fund, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals in her local community with an emphasis on controlling the pet population. Gretchen also acted as Chief Operating Officer of Guide Dogs of Texas, where she managed their finances, facilities, human resources, marketing, fund development and information technology.
Currently, Gretchen is a grant writer for multiple non-profit organizations throughout Texas. Gretchen holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Science from Colby-Sawyer College, a Master of Education from Elmira College, and a Master in Business Administration from University of the Incarnate Word.
