Catherine Higgins

Catherine Higgins is known for her innate ability to balance her global perspective with her passion for initiating change and progress within her local community. Catherine’s talent for team building, problem solving and strategic thinking shines through in every project she undertakes.

Catherine joined the Junior League in 2009 and has been a member of three Leagues: Los Angeles, Boston, and currently, Monmouth County, NJ. She has served on a broad range of League committees including Done In A Day, Strategic Planning, Community Projects, Fund Development, and was a co-chair for the Junior League of Los Angeles’ (JLLA) Harvest Boutique Fundraiser in 2012 and 2013. She has also participated in numerous League training programs, including the Leadership Development Institute run by JLLA and Get On Board New Jersey, a training centered around board membership, leadership, and operations run by Leagues of the New Jersey State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC).

Catherine is a global traveler who has visited over 17 countries and loves learning about different cultures. She is also an adventurous foodie who loves trying new restaurants and cuisines. Catherine always enjoys a good book at the beach in the summer and snowboarding in the mountains in the winter.

Catherine’s first career was as an engineer building communication satellites with The Boeing Company, working with a variety of government and commercial customers. She now has her own consulting business where she works with clients on research, analysis, marketing and strategy projects. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
