Betsy Conway

With deep experience and passion for leading teams and supporting team members, Betsy Conway has played important leadership roles at both the Junior League of Charlotte and The Association of Junior Leagues International. Her leadership philosophy is one of serving as a connector who can bring together teams of diverse members and who can align differing ideas and experiences into a unified vision. Betsy works towards both the professional and personal development of the people with whom she works.

Betsy has been an impactful member of the Junior League of Charlotte for nearly 15 years spearheading several critical initiatives for the League. This includes developing and implementing new advocacy training as a member of the State Public Affairs Committee of the Junior Leagues of NC, serving on a finance task force and spearheading a comprehensive policies and procedures update as governance chair of the Board of Directors. She most recently led the board of directors with responsibility for a $1.3 million endowment as President of the Junior League of Charlotte Legacy Foundation. As a Member-at-Large of the Governance Committee for AJLI, she served on the internal communications committee.

Betsy has a wealth of non-profit experience in the areas of civic engagement and public service. She is a current fellow of the American Leadership Forum, which is dedicated to bringing diverse leaders together to serve the common good. She serves on the board of the Mint Museum Auxiliary, which raises money to support educational offerings for the community, and is a member the Women’s Impact Fund, one of the largest collective impact organizations in the country. Betsy worked in the area of corporate philanthropy as Manager of Charlotte Community Affairs and Sports Marketing for Duke Energy. Currently, she is the Director of Social Responsibility at Novant Health, where she is responsible for community engagement, charitable giving and team member volunteerism.

Betsy received her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and her M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University.
