New York, October 2, 2014 – Recognizing the importance of effective fundraising for local and regional nonprofits as well as national organizations, The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI) is offering free access to an online webinar called Amplify Your Fundraising Results with #GivingTuesday and Community Giving Days on Wednesday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. Non-League members who wish to attend can register HERE, or by visiting the AJLI website (http://www.ajli.org/) and clicking on the Get Involved > Webinars tab.
The webinar will be led by two development stars: Asha Curran, Director of the Center for Innovation & Social Impact at 92nd Street Y in New York City, and Dana Rinderknecht, Past President of the Junior League of Denver and Director of Online Giving for Colorado’s Community First Foundation. This is the first time that AJLI has opened up one of its highly successful training webinars for Junior League members to the nonprofit community as a whole.
Susan Danish, AJLI’s Executive Director, said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for Junior League community partners or any other nonprofit to hear two amazing fundraising professionals talk about what works for their organizations – and how it can be adapted to yours! For example, Community First Foundation’s Colorado Gives Day raised $20.5 million in 2013 for 1,449 local nonprofits – from 38,760 individual donors – in ONE day. And then there’s the success of the 92nd Street Y’s international giving day, #GivingTuesday—whose viral hashtag reached 2 billion users on Twitter.”
Webinar participants will learn:
- How community giving days fit into the “gamification” of online fundraising.
- How the story behind #GivingTuesday and Colorado Gives is relevant to other organizations.
- How to leverage resources to plot your strategy and make a successful case for community support.
- How Junior Leagues have successfully raised funds through giving days.
