Maureen Mackey Named COO

The Association of Junior Leagues International Names Maureen Mackey as COO

Brings strong background in both nonprofit and for-profit financial management

New York, NY – May 2, 2012The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. today announced that Maureen Mackey has been named Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Mackey was formerly Chief Operating Officer of The Foundation Center, the nation’s leading resource on knowledge about institutional philanthropy. In her new role, she will assume the responsibilities Martha Ferry, who is retiring, oversaw as Chief Financial Officer.  

Susan Danish, Executive Director of the 111-year-old women’s volunteer organization, said, “Maureen brings the benefits of her talents and experience from both the nonprofit and for-profit worlds. She will be a valuable addition to AJLI’s dedicated staff as we continue to develop and implement support programs for our 293 independent Leagues, including online member training.”

Ms. Danish added, “I also want to thank Martha Ferry, who had been our CFO for 10 years, for her dedication and service to AJLI and our Leagues. Martha’s practical advice and sound management counsel were much sought after by rising League management teams in training sessions at our Annual Conventions and other leadership events. We wish Martha well in her retirement.”

Ms. Mackey is a former Vice President of Finance, Controller at Wechsler Coffee Corporation and a Senior Manager at KPMG. She holds a BA in Economics from Smith College and an MS in Accounting from New York University, Stern School of Business.
