2006 Leadership Development Award winner
The Junior League of Indianapolis
The Junior League of Indianapolis won the 2006 Leadership Development Award for its Personal Improvement Challenge Series, a program to benefit members not only in their League volunteer roles, but also in their work and family life.
This program is designed to enhance each member's volunteer, personal and professional capacity.
This is an intensive training program, educating members on such topics as Financial Planning 101, Time Management, and Identity Theft. The program has also covered how to take the perfect picture, and how to walk into a room and talk to anyone.
This award helped the League broaden its reach to other members of the community and become the premier training organization for women in Indianapolis.
In less than a year, training attendance increased six-fold. In 2012, it was listed as one of the many reasons for the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana’s resolution honoring the Indianapolis League. The program is still in existence today.
