Overview:
A Giving Day—whether it’s specifically #GivingTuesday or another day designated by local communities—leverages social media networks to bring together nonprofits and individuals to build awareness of the work nonprofits are engaged in, generate excitement around giving and philanthropy, and attract new donors to great causes.
For example, in 2013 Community First Foundation’s Colorado Gives Day raised $20.5 million dollars for 1,449 local nonprofits, from 38,760 individual donors…in ONE day. And that does not include the multitude of efforts by everyday people like the 92nd Street Y’s international giving day, #GivingTuesday—whose viral hashtag reached 2 billion users on Twitter.
So, how can you get involved and what makes a community giving day successful? Access our webinar recording to hear first-hand from the women who drive the success of #GivingTuesday and Colorado Gives Day as well as how you can harness the spirit of philanthropy for good in your community.
You’ll hear from experts in the field on:
- History of community giving days and the “gamification” of online fundraising
- The story behind #GivingTuesday and Colorado Gives
- How to leverage resources to plot your strategy and make a successful case for support
- Examples of Junior League’s that successfully raised funds through giving days
